Purposeful preservation
Important email.
Kept in order.
A personal tool for finding important Gmail records and keeping private copies of messages and attachments in Paperless.
This is an information site, not an inbox. There is no public registration, email upload or access to household documents here.
What it is for
A searchable record of household life.
The extractor is being developed for the operator’s authorised household accounts. Its intended scope includes house-building correspondence, tax and banking records, medical reports, warranties, orders, travel bookings, investments, school communications and refunds.
It is operated by Gareth Jones. It is not a Google product and is not offered as a public email service.
Connect with consent
Google OAuth authorises access to a specific account. The extractor does not ask for or store a Google password.
Preserve useful records
Reviewed messages can be converted to PDF; original attachments are retained separately when supported and validated. Copies are stored in a private Paperless account.
Keep the owner in control
Inbox organisation is a separate capability. Reading or copying an email does not itself authorise moving or deleting it.
Current rollout
Read-only discovery is active.
Background discovery checks connected accounts for message identifiers and changes. Limited, manually reviewed document-import trials have also taken place.
General automatic importing, Gmail filing and deletion are not yet enabled. These require additional implementation, testing and appropriate account consent.
Inbox safeguards
Time to review before filing.
The filing policy requires emails to be more than 48 hours old before automatic mailbox changes. A newer message protects a whole-thread action. Unanswered requests and unresolved actions must remain in the inbox regardless of age.
Private copies may be saved sooner without altering Gmail. Sending email and permanent deletion are outside the intended worker’s permitted actions.
Understand the data, before connecting.
The privacy notice explains access, storage, retention, permissions and how to disconnect. For assistance, contact the operator using the support email displayed on the Google consent screen.
